Human Resource Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative Human Resource Manager who will work closely with leadership to develop, implement, and manage the Office’s human resource programs. 

The Position

As HR Manager you will report to the Deputy Provincial Auditor and Chief Operating Officer to manage the Office’s HR programs and initiatives while working closely with management and staff. You are an action-oriented individual who approaches your work strategically and confidently while building strong relationships.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Supporting culture and talent outcomes by developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain talent
  • Coordinating recruitment processes
  • Implementing actions to enhance diversity and inclusion
  • Coordinating engagement surveys and rewards and recognition initiatives
  • Guiding and supporting supervisors with performance management and coaching
  • Planning training and development to support current and future needs aligned with the Office’s strategic and succession plans
  • Assisting with HR policy development and implementation

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in human resource management or a CPHR designation; and
  • Minimum three years professional level human resources experience in areas such as organizational development, recruitment, job evaluation and performance management practices; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Candidate Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in administering sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to extract, compile and analyze data
  • Strong project management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Works collaboratively with others promoting team morale and productivity
  • Discretion and good judgment with an ability to understand the impact of decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of provincial HR related legislation and requirements

Legislative Auditors

The Position

With our team and the guidance of our CPA mentors, you will gain practical work experience approved by CPA Saskatchewan to supplement achievement of your CPA designation, and launch your professional career. We audit more than 230 agencies of the provincial Government, including ministries, Crown corporations, post-secondary institutions, the health authority, funds, and benefit plans.

Within your first year in our Office, you will have the opportunity to plan and to complete small audits in a team environment. In addition, our auditors work on complex sections of larger audits. Audits are conducted on a wide range of industries and government sectors such as education, health, insurance, social services, finance, environment, and infrastructure. Your work experience will be diverse and increase in complexity as you proceed through your professional accounting program.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom/BComm) or accounting-related degree from a recognized university, or currently be in your final school year with an anticipated 2024 graduation
  • Qualitative analysis and research skills; quantitative analysis skills an asset
  • Some knowledge of government and the public service
  • Effective written/verbal communications skills, as well as an ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Interest in pursuing a CPA designation is an asset
