Our office is adopting the federal and provincial government COVID-19 measures for government employers and employees. (https://www.saskatchewan.ca/coronavirus)
We will continue to carry out our audits in order to minimize, to the extent possible, the impact of the current state of affairs on the audit of the Government of Saskatchewan’s financial statements, and the timeliness of other audits.
The Deputy Provincial Auditor or the Summary Reviewer assigned to your audit will consult with you prior to audit teams working onsite at your agency.
We fully recognize some employees of agencies we are auditing (and some of our staff) may be working from home, and could be faced with work priorities resulting from the COVID-19 situation. If you have reasons to change prior audit arrangements or have specific needs, we ask you contact the responsible Deputy Provincial Auditor/ the primary contact from our Office (listed in the cover letter to your audit plan), or info@auditor.sk.ca to advise us so that we can make appropriate adjustments.
We are adjusting how we carry out our audits to minimize face-to-face contact as necessary, and where possible, place greater reliance on our IT system—our IT supports secure, confidential communications.
We thank you in advance for your support and patience during this unusual current state of affairs
The Provincial Auditor is an independent officer of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The Office promotes accountability and better management by providing Legislators and the public with an independent assessment of the government’s use of public resources.
