The Office of the Provincial Auditor of Saskatchewan is seeking highly-motivated individuals to join our team in providing assurance and advice to the Legislative Assembly on the management, governance, and effective use of public resources. We are the external, independent auditors of the Government of Saskatchewan, and a leading accounting firm.

The Position

With our team and the guidance of our approachable CPA mentors, you will gain the required practical work experience toward the achievement of your CPA designation and launch of your unique and meaningful career as a legislative auditor. We audit more than 230 agencies of the provincial Government, including ministries, Crown corporations, post-secondary institutions, the health authority, pension funds, and benefit plans.

Within your first year, you will have the opportunity in a team environment to plan and complete small audits and contribute to sections of more complex, larger audits. Audits are conducted across a range of industries and government sectors such as education, health, insurance, social services, finance, environment, and infrastructure. As you progress through the professional accounting program, you’ll gain diverse experience and take on increasingly complex work assignments leading to opportunities for specialization and career advancement.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom/BComm) or accounting-related degree from a recognized university or currently be in your final school year
  • Qualitative analysis and research skills; quantitative analysis skills an asset
  • Some knowledge of government function and the public service
  • Effective written/verbal communications skills, an ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Interest in pursuing a CPA designation is an asset
