Ms Judy Ferguson Named Acting Provincial Auditor September 3, 2013

REGINA, Sask., Sept 3, 2013 – The Office of the Provincial Auditor of Saskatchewan is pleased to announce that Ms Judy Ferguson has been named Acting Provincial Auditor, effective September 3, 2013. Ms Ferguson will assume this role until such time as the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly, on the unanimous recommendation of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, appoints a new Provincial Auditor.

Ms Ferguson has more than 30 years of service with the Provincial Auditor’s Office. Appointed as Assistant Provincial Auditor in 2012, Ms Ferguson leads the Financial Services Division. Ms Ferguson holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, is a Chartered Accountant, and was awarded the Fellowship of Chartered Accountancy of Saskatchewan in 2004. She has considerable expertise related to auditing and financial reporting, and serves as a representative with several professional organizations and advisory groups including the Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors (CCOLA). She served on the Canadian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board from 2007 to 2013.

The Office of the Provincial Auditor serves the Members of the Legislative Assembly and the people of Saskatchewan by providing independent assurance and advice on the management, governance, and effective use of public resources.
