Ms. Judy Ferguson resigns as Provincial Auditor for Saskatchewan

REGINA, SK., February 16, 2021

The Honorable R. Weekes, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly has accepted Ms. Judy Ferguson’s notice of resignation as Provincial Auditor of Saskatchewan, effective June 30, 2021.

The Speaker extends sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ms. Ferguson for her 40 years of service to the people of Saskatchewan. Prior to the Legislative Assembly officially appointing Ms. Ferguson as Provincial Auditor on June 1, 2015, she was the Acting Provincial Auditor effective September 1, 2013.

Ms. Ferguson will continue her leadership until the end of June, by which time the Standing Committee on Public Accounts will have named an Acting Provincial Auditor, and commenced the process to recruit a new Provincial Auditor.

The Office of the Provincial Auditor is an independent office of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The Office serves the Members of the Legislative Assembly and the people of Saskatchewan by providing independent assurance and advice on the management, governance, and effective use of public resources.
